From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Fans can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
